India’s Honey Garlic Grilled Wings
I love to cook with my kids. Parking them up at the kitchen island and giving them a job keeps them busy, gets them invested in the food, and just plain makes me proud. This is a great recipe because they can’t mess it up. You need a gallon zip lock bag, as many of the ingredients you see below, and some chicken wings (or thighs work great too). Open the ziplock in a large bowl so it stays open, line up all the ingredients, and let them start pouring and shaking them in. You are just trying to get a good marinade going. Once you are done, seal the bag (get as much air out as you can) and let sit in the fridge for at least an hour (I like 2-3 hours….but I am not such a fan of overnight…the lemon juice seems to break the chicken skin down…and we love crackly good chicken skin). Hope y’all have fun….this recipe is a “keeper” for my kids…and I hope you make some great cooking memories….!!…!
What you need:
- 5-6 cloves of garlic (or about 3 tbsp).
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard (or yellow if you don’t have Dijon)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 to ½ tbsp..fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Mix, marinade, and grill. I like to add a bit of salt while on the grill to crisp up the skin. Serve with ranch, blue cheese, or just by themselves. Check out our recipe for an awesome Homemade Ranch Dressing that is a total game changer….(you will never buy Ranch from the store again….)
