Prep Time: 2.5 hours total (2 hours to marinate)
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ok, no long stories here, just an easy grilled pork recipe that will be a keeper for you and your family. I like to use “bone in” pork chops in the recipe but I had some cut pork loin steaks that were needing to be cooked so they got the green light. You can use this marinade for any cut of pork or chicken. The addition of vinegar helps tenderize the meat and add a bit of zing. As with all of my recipes, this is just a guide. Add more of what you like and less of what you don’t.
What you need:
- 2lbs of pork (cut tenderloins, chops, any cut that will work on the grill)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoons of honey
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoons of White Wine Vinegar (if you don’t have white wine vinegar you can use apple cider, champagne, or regular white vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon of minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon Paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Oregano
- Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
- Salt and Fresh Ground Pepper
Ready to go:
- Mix all ingredients above in a bowl.
- Place your pork and marinade in a large zip-lock bag or glass bowl. Place bowl or bag in fridge (flip every hour…or move pork around so all pieces get equal time in the marinade).
- Let your pork sit in the marinade for 2 hours at a minimum. You can go as long as overnight, but I think 4 hours is the sweet spot (the thicker the pork, the longer it can marinade).
- Heat your grill to high and let it come up to temp.
- Put your pork on the grill (for great grill marks lay the pork at 10 o’clock….flip once….and 2 o’clock….flip once).
- I like to check the temp after the second flip, for the pork to be “done” it sould be at 145 degrees….so I pull the pork at about 140-142 degrees and tent with aluminum foil for 5 minutes (it will continue to cook under the foil).
- After a few minutes of resting under the foil, you are good to go. Try our Chili Pepper Water Recipe for a super easy dipping sauce….I am telling you, pepper water and pork are a match made in heaven.
Good luck! Thanks for reading, leave a comment and let us know how it all turned out.
